My husband and I met Michael through a friend and when purchasing our property, we actually have seen his company on the planning website, so it meant we had to ring him. Despite the pandemic and a rather stressful time for us, he helped us navigate through the design, built and paperwork process, for which we will be forever grateful. We worked with Vorbild Architecture on an exciting project last year at a 2 bedroom apartment in St johns wood. They came and insoected on a regular basis and liased with the client throughout the project to make sure the owners wishes were meet and were helpful in guiding us to anything we needed any guidance on which was very little. I have no problem recommending Vorbild to anyone who is serious to have a quality finished property

I had a pleasure of working with Michael on various residential projects in London. He and the team are very professional, reliable and offer a first class service from the beginning to the end. I used Vorbild services in 2017, with Michael assisting with obtaining a planning permission for a rear extension to a four storey block of flats, then supervising the erection of my ground floor extension. Michael was charming and sociable. He helped obtain the planning permission achieving a better result (permission for a larger extension) than the previous architect. However, his advice with regards to architectural decisions while sound, was uninspired.

I would give him four out of five stars for this work. Regrettably, I cannot recommend Michael for the construction supervision work because of his unfortunate lack of attention to detail, which is so absolutely critical with building works. I myself kept catching the builders making mistakes or blatantly cutting corners while Michael sailed serenely past their botches. Recently, I had to pay nearly 2,500 for a complete re-covering of the flat extension roof where Michael in his capacity as site supervisor failed to notice that the original builders (introduced and recommended by him) failed to install any damp proofing under the coping stone and botched the drainage and flashing so that rainwater had been collecting inside the walls and the ceiling, eventually manifesting in a massive internal leak that required re-decoration of the kitchen and also shorted my kitchen, dining room and bathroom circuits.

For site supervision work, I can give Michael one out of five stars - for turning up and issuing supervisors' certificates (although also not without hiccups). By all means use Michael for charming the planning officer into giving you the permission you want (as long as you are prepared to do all the creative thinking yourself). Avoid for contractor selection and site supervision.

My partner and I met Michael through a friend of ours, about 3 years ago. We then planned on purchasing an apartment, which he helped us to evaluate in terms of future resale value. sadly the sale fell through. Then, finally, we managed to purchase our house 2 years ago, got planning permission with his help, and later used one of Michaels builders to completely refurbish it.

I admit it took longer than planned, but now, looking back, I am very grateful to his patience, advice, and hand-holding throughout the job. We love our house, and now that we have to stay indoors, we are the more grateful that we did its transformation when we did it. Dear All, I would like to share my experience with Vorbild Architecture and since It becomes difficult to leave review on Houzz.co.uk I decided to do something about it as I strongly feel disgusted how he was making sure that we contractors are not experienced or have bad communication skill and charging too much for services we provide. Our client recently posted negative feedback regarding our services.

Job which we provide was to highest standards. Our work started from as client pointed out "detailed estimate", cost of plastering p/m2 electrics cost p/point. Everything was calculated based on drawings and specification provided by Vorbild Architecture. During project we discover that property needs full remodeling not just removing wall paper but demolishing whole ceilings, rebuilding walls repairing structural damages etc. amount of work got into property was immense.

Since the beginning we were asked to do so many things by architect and client that I'm not sure client was aware of the cost, time scale and delivery of the project. Time passed and what was confirmed in writing by architect and client suddenly change to "that should be included in price". As Architec from Vorbild Architecture pointed out "They don't know anything, Ill talk to them" or "I don't care how the things will turn out, I'm only interested in pictures".

There is more to that story and it would take me large amount of time to write it. I'm happy to share more details, emails, experience with Vorbild Architecture to make sure any decent contractor/client will not get himself into trouble or not necessary costs and excuses Thank you. Michael

We purchased a large family house in North West London that needed a lot of work to be done. We felt that it had a lot of potential, but we weren't sure where to start. We spoke to a few Architects and then we came across VORBILD Architecture in an article in The Times newspaper. Michael met us at the property and we liked his personal approach as well as visible experience in working on London houses. Soon, we were presented with a few options of how the space could be remodelled and extended.

As works needed to be done to the whole building anyway, we decided to go with the Architects' advice and to try to extend it simultaneously as much as we could. We liked the idea of creating a play room for the kids on the ground floor and converting the loft into an additional ensuite bedroom. We were happy how the Architects worked with the Council and, despite some conditions, we gained a planning permission for what we needed.

The Architects helped as next with finding and choosing a building company. We had no previous experience with this, so we appreciated the guidance very much. Once the building works began, Michael or his project manager visited the property regularly. We found it easy to meet with them or to quickly hear back by email. The Practice was also very helpful with recommending us various finishes for the house and suppliers.

We liked the idea of having some bespoke joinery installed in spaces that standard furniture would just not fit well. They again presented us with a choice of a few joinery companies that could carry out the works. The whole project took a few months to complete and surely it is quite an intense period of time, but we could not thank enough the whole VORBILD Architecture team for their hard work and efforts!

Michael and his team provided us with an amazing service, for a very very competitive price. We had some vague and some very detailed ideas of what we wanted and they were able to visualise and render all of the possibilities, and give us further ideas to ponder.

Michael further project managed our renovation, contacting us only when needed/for predetermined updates, allowing us to continue with our lives as normal, and taking action when we were not reachable or able to make decisions in order to keep the build going. We'd recommend Vorbild to anyone looking for a very professional, creative and amiable service.

I had an old house that no longer suited my needs, so I needed to turn into something more comfortable and attractive. Vorbild crew wonderfully understood what I needed and helped me with a complete house renovation. The project included bedroom, living room, kitchen and bathroom remodel and they did an amazing job. Now everyone who steps into my house thinks it is a new one!

Vorbild has helped me with the process of building my weekend house. They successfully understood all of my ideas and made me a beautiful new house. The project was finished way before the given deadline and within my tight budget. Since then I have referred them to few of my friends and I highly recommend them to you too!!!
