Allister finished his studies at Oxford Brookes University in 1999 with Postgraduate Diplomas in both Architecture and Built Resource Studies. In 2000 he registered with the ARB and RIBA as a Chartered Architect. Prior to founding Allister Godfrey Architects in 2005, Allister spent 5 years with Anderson Orr Architects delivering a wide range of architectural projects in the residential and educational sectors.
We are an award-winning architectural practice based in Wantage, Oxfordshire. Our service is both personal and professional and we truly believe you will enjoy working with us on the design of your extension, new home or housing development. Over the years we have maintained an excellent track record for obtaining planning permissions on behalf of our clients, particularly with challenging sites.
Founded by Allister Godfrey in 2005, Allister Godfrey Architects has built a reputation for the design of bespoke buildings throughout England. Our award-winning RIBA Chartered Practice aims to alleviate the stress of new builds, extensions and alterations in any kind of home or residential development.
From there we can arrange an initial consultation either at your property or our office. Your anticipated build cost is outside of our scope for smaller projects. Allister recently provided me with advice for a listed property that needed modification. He was fantastic. Professional. Clear. Responsive. Resourceful. He gave us a very good understanding of the potential scope and risks of the project and did this working within a very narrow timeframe. I was very impressed and recommend without reservation.

We approached Allister with a relatively small scheme to remodel part of our listed cottage and although we do not feel like 'big clients', nothing seems too much trouble for Allister and his team. They have been happy to communicate with a number of suppliers/professionals and we feel that every detail has been afforded the appropriate amount of attention.
From the design side of things, Allister has added great insight and made suggestions that make the most of some quite pokey spaces (it is a cottage after all) to maximise both the aesthetic and functional value of each area. I couldn't recommend him highly enough.
