Services
Architecture is about much more than creating a functional, built environment. The skill in creating value lies in how the design process can add to that functionality by producing great places and buildings that are beautiful, sustainable and maximise the client's investment. Great places enrich our lives and lift our spirits.
Our approach is to spend a great deal of time getting to know our clients and their business plan. This means drilling down deep into that plan - getting under the skin of our clients - to fully understand their modus operandi, and how we can best work with them. Some clients have quite simple plans which require little in the way of briefing but plenty of site analysis and design inspiration. Others require intensive stakeholder participation, from CEO to junior assistant, and where audit trails and project champions play a key role.
Design thinking collaboratively always creates a better result, and our office layout emphasises that. There is no hierarchy in the plan - senior staff occupy the same studio space as junior staff. Design ideas are freely expressed and challenged. Different sized meeting and discussion zones are important - a creative working environment means a creative thinking environment.
We are a RIBA Chartered Practice. This is a specialist category within the institution and requires us to comply with strict criteria that gives our clients a mark of quality, allowing them to expect a certain level of excellence in design and service. We signed the RIBA 2030 Climate Challenge. The RIBA has developed the 2030 Climate Challenge to help architects meet net zero (or better) whole life carbon for new and retrofitted buildings by 2030.It sets a series of targets for RIBA Chartered Practices to adopt to reduce operational energy, embodied carbon, and potable water.
